Our client is a major distributer of products to the Retail sector. Their IT Department is responsible for running and enhancing core systems and building new applications that manage their business end to end. Some systems manage the Supply Chain and Logistics and others provide vital data insights on sales performance for each product in each store, predicting trends and when to replenish stocks and much more.
The business is going through an exciting period of growth as they look to offer more products to existing and new customers and Data and BI is going to help support and drive this growth.
The requirement for a BI Analyst is to understand, create and provide exceptional analytical toolsets & timely intelligence for faster, smarter decision making. The role will be to work with business stakeholders to understand their information requirements and turn into analytical solutions for a wide range of business challenges.
This role is primarily on the back end utilising the Microsoft BI stack (Power BI) and other BI reporting solutions such as MicroStrategy and SAS, to understand, support, and develop their business BI infrastructure. It is expected that you have strong SQL, experience of DAX and be numerate and enjoy solving complex logic. This is a Junior to mid-level role so a great chance to build on your experience and get lots of support and training to further develop your career in this field. Skills and Experience:

Around 2-3yrs commercial experience as a BI Analyst

Power BI expected and experience of working with other BI toolsets; MicroStrategy, SSAS, SAS or similar is advantageous.

Experience of DAX

Strong SQL (SQL Server preferred so T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Tables, Views, Indexes, etc).

Oracle PL/SQL fine. Their legacy systems are Oracle but migrating to SQL Server so familiarity of Oracle useful but everything new is in SQL Server.

High degree of numeracy and problem-solving capability.

Ability to understand and interpret complex data.

Strong logical approach with excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
