Technology Solutions Manager – Data/BI/Integrations/Workflows/Automation

Remote – with Travel 1-2 days per months across South of England

Our client is Group of companies made up of 22 different brands all in the same sector and have combined through mergers and acquisition. As a group, they are the largest of their kind in the South of England with 180 different stores.

Through Private Equity investment, the Group are in the middle of a major Transformation programme to streamline the business and get all the brands to integrate better including shared common technology platforms. The company is therefore going through a significant period of change building stronger foundations from which to grow with exciting opportunities in the pipeline.

There is a Technology roadmap in place which includes the implementation of a Common cloud-based Network and Infrastructure platform, a Group wide ERP system and a Power Platform. As these platforms are rolled out, there is a need to Integrate systems and build solutions for the business with BI, Data, Automation and workflows. In response to this, they now need a Technology Solutions Manager to design and build these solutions.

Initially the role will be to help deliver current projects for Integration of their ERP to the data warehouse, BI, Websites and EDI, also to deliver a technology platform to support the growth of a new market for them and to also help define their BI Agenda.

The role will then build on these platforms with automation, workflow, increased use cases, app development and so on. They will replace their SQL Server Data Warehouse in due course and other projects lined up too.

The role requires an existing Manager of small teams (3-10) and there are 3 here, but also the ability to be design authority on new solutions to build in-house and/or through partners. Solution Architecture experience is useful but just need to be able to sense check the designs from vendors for business solutions to see if fit for purpose and scalable.

This role will suit someone that is used to working in fast paced changeable businesses that can seek clarity where there is ambiguity and show initiative to deliver. FMCG or Retail or similar industries would be a good example of industries that are similar to this business.

Experience:

  • A Technical background in BI, Data and Integration of systems

  • Have Designed, Built and Managed the delivery of BI, Data, workflow, automation and Integration solutions.

  • Have lead teams of circa 3-10 to motivate, manage and help delivery of technology solutions

  • Have also managed and delivered solutions through Partners

  • Solution Architecture experience nice to have but as a minimum, can design solutions for the business and be the Technical Design Authority on all projects including sense checking 3rd party designs. Need to be able to map data flows

  • MS Tech stack to include SQL Server, Power Platform including Power BI and Power Apps.

  • Experience of Workflows and Automation. AI nice to have and will follow when fundamental platforms are in place and data management is optimised.

  • Previously worked in Retail or FMCG or a distributed business

  • Can work with ambiguity in a changeable environment and grow a function.

  • Be South Based and able to travel 1-2 days per month from Devon to East Sussex as required and to meet the business and the team
